FAQ - GENERAL QUESTIONS

Why does Horizon Living have such low prices?

At Horizon Living are export oriented. We create massive cost savings by manufacturing in NZ – and our export prices are all excluding GST. Because we purchase the building materials in bulk from our close industry contacts and suppliers, it saves our clients a lot of money and hassle. Our houses are manufactured in New Zealand using highly efficient products and systems to ensure not only the lowest cost, but also the best quality with maximum durability, safety and satisfaction for our clients.

What is a manufactured home?

A manufactured home is a factory built home. They are designed, measured, cut and partially assembled in our factories, then shipped to site for final assembly and installation. Our Villas are manufactured in New Zealand using locally sourced materials and directly help many New Zealand and Pacific Island businesses.

As much work as possible is completed on your villas prior to shipping, including framing, diaphragm bracing, sheet cutting, precut roofing, joinery doors and louvre assembly, assembly of kitchen units and more. Other materials and dimensions are designed specifically for our units, so installation on site requires little to no adjustment. This ensures better quality control and a very easy install method upon arrival to site.

Prior to your Villa’s material packs being delivered, we will arrange for a site visit to your property, from our site and “foundation experts” to assess and install your foundation/piling system on your chosen site. This includes the operation of a tracked drilling machine, so some access will be required at your site. Please keep this in mind when choosing where to position your Villa(s). Our team will help plan this with you as part of the Building Permit process with your local governing body.

After the hard work is all done for you in the factory, building your Villa is as easy as standing up the frames and screw fixing the cladding and lining sheets, roofing and patio tiles, and dropping in the doors and louvres. All materials, down to the screws and glue, are provided along with our “Best Practices Assembly Guide”. Our aim, is that an owner, and-or a couple of their able bodied friends, could complete final assembly in a matter of hours (smaller orders), or days (large orders) – and not months or years!

Shipping and Delivery Once we receive the last and full payment for your house, we will begin the final process and confirm all your order details, before sending the final delivery contract to you for approval; and once complete – we will assess your building site, confirm your designs, and send a completed order form to our construction site offices. We then need 7 open days to prepare the order for Shipping.

Shipping usually takes between:

5 to 10 days* to Samoa
7 to 12 days* to Tonga
7 to 12 days* to Fiji

* Estimated time. We can’t guarantee the exact delays of delivery in your home country.

Is my home covered by a warranty?

Horizon Living homes are covered by a 10-year limited manufacturer’s warranty. Additional Warranties are provided on specific products such as roofing, cladding, joinery and floor coverings are assigned to the homeowner, some of which are lifetime warranties. Our own manufacturers warranty includes 10 years of protection against major structural or building envelope failure, and a comprehensive one-year warranty on all factory work. We expect the average life of all of our cyclone-rated structural Villa products to be around 60-150 years, roofing to be between 15-40 years, and everything else – with good care – to last many generations.

Can I cancel my order anytime?

Absolutely. We believe that everybody should be allowed to change their mind. We will give you your money back but will charge an administrative fee of $250 plus 1% of the package price you chose. If you did not choose a package and were contributing towards your goals (a dollar amount), we will waive the $250 fee.

If you have been receiving benefits such as the RSE Chairmans house guarantee, RSE free international payments service, or any other fabulous “Chairman’s Benefits” that we have organised for RSE workers, and then you ask for a (full or partial) refund without completing your purchase, the cost of these services (any component refunded) will also be returned to the provider, at your cost. This is solely to prevent unfair misuse of these wonderful benefits.

Can I change the package after I have signed the contract ?It is possible to change your package at anytime until you have agreed to the final delivery contract. We will let you know when this is and we will not begin production before this agreement is signed. If you choose to change to a package of lesser value, we will refund you the difference (minus the cancelation terms of 1% + $250 administration fee) on the reduced value (as applicable).

This is to protect the wonderful services offered including the Chairman’s Benefit and Guarantee from misuse.

I’m not an RSE worker, can I buy one?No, sorry. Our RSE program was created specifically for RSE workers. These packages are often designed and agreed up to 3 years in advance and are paid for by monthly or weekly instalments.

In addition, we have been able to secure fantastic partnerships with organisations in the Pacific, like the UN funded Pacific Development Foundation, Merx, Aspire Bank®️, and others who have a mission to help RSE workers benefit from our RSE program. These organisations provide a considerable amount of administrative, legal, and logistical support to reduce the overheads significantly. But if you are not an RSE worker – your order certainly benefits from these orders and services – as our pricing and quality already shows!

We use these relationships to enable bulk purchasing and bulk management of all components and aspects of these packages. If you are interested in joining one of these production allocations, please fill in the survey and we will get back to you with options on how to receive these great benefits.
